Jon Huntsman Coming to Ford

Presidential candidate and former US Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman has been keeping busy since he stepped down from running as a Republican hopeful. Effective immediately, he will join Ford Motor Company's Board of Directors.

"Jon brings to Ford's board of directors extensive global knowledge and experience - particularly in Asia with trade issues - and operational experience gained as governor of Utah, a state that has grown jobs even during the economic crisis," said Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford. "Jon understands the importance of strengthening the country's manufacturing base, which will contribute to our success going forward."1

Huntsman, age 51, is chairman of Huntsman Cancer Foundation, and former White House Staff Assistant under Reagan. His ties with China could help bring new tech to Ford, or open up that country as a larger market for the auto maker, boosting international sales.

Theodore Robins Ford in Costa Mesa, CA is interested to see what a former Presidential candidate could do for this successful auto manufacturer.
